A nice fleet turnout and smooth sim sailing weather featured during this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. This weeks frisky fleet-foiled feline fleet, sailing on the North Sea WC Reach 1 course and a two lap affair on the North Sea Long Loop course, was comprised of a majority of four The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, one crewed and three single-handed respectively. Two TMS Nacra 17s and one Wildwind AC-62 rounded out this weeks fleet. The regions of the North Sea responded in kind to the feline fleet, as the only DNFs (Did Not Finish) on the day, one in each race from the same skipper, were due to that skippers internet connection completely failing. With the great weather and the nice fleet, the spectators gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier were treated to some fast fleet-foiled racing.

Elina (ElinaKrystal Resident) and Isa (isab DeCuir) finished tied with 5 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“

In the last race, Elina breaks the tie with Isa with her second place finish over Isa’s third place finish.
