Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the last Cat Fight in The North Sea for May, 2023. The North Sea regions were well behaved with two DNFs (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day. The first DNF, occurring during the first race, was due to a skipper’s internet connection’s increasingly poor condition. The second DNF, occurring during the second race, was due to a skipper pulling his boat after frustration from the 21 knot race wind. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus, and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, indulged in the fresh fleet-foiled feline ferment on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta and North Sea Cat Fight 01 courses, was made up of a majority of six The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows. One WildWind AC-45 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.

Calm seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted the first North Sea Bandit Regatta for May, 2023. The North Sea regions were well behaved as two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. Both DNFs, occurring one a piece in each race, happened when skippers crashed while crossing over regions corners. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, enjoyed an entertaining display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta and North Sea Manta Reverse courses, was made up of a majority of nine Bandit 22 LTEs. Five Bandit IFs, four sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively, rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.

Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the last Cat Fight in The North Sea for April, 2023. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, rising to 21 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were behaved for most with two DNFs (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day. Both DNFs, one a piece in each race, were due to one skipper having internet connection issues. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus, and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, delighted in the frenetic fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Half Mane and North Sea Hay courses, consisted of six The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, five sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively.
