Calm to slightly choppy seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The North Sea regions were mostly behaved for everyone as no DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recored on the day. However, several skippers still had some lag and region corner crashing issues, although they were able to regain control of their boats and continue on to the finish. The crowds that assembled along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, and along the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, reveled in a spirited display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea 01 and North Sea 02 courses, was made up of a majority of nine Bandit 22 LTEs. Five Bandit IFs, four sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively, and two Bandit 25Rs rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.

A sunny Saturday afternoon in July highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta. The North Sea regions behaved reasonably well. Today, we had a fleet of nine Bandit IF’s at the start. Two of the nine Bandit IF’s were crewed.

We had three great races. There were close fights between all the skippers. For a long time, we had a compact fleet during the three races.

We had one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through all races and it was another successful and sporting day in The North Sea.
