Today we were in Blake Sea for a Bandit IF regatta. Why? Today was the day of Second Sailstice 2021. The North Sea participated by holding our race at the raceline in the Blake Sea – Pacific region, at the request of Analyse Dean, of Bandit Ltd. It was decided to use two routes from Starboards Yacht Club (SYC). One of the two routes would be sailed twice.

Saturday saw a sunny afternoon in June in the northeast of Blake Sea. Today we had a fleet of five Bandit IF’s at the start. One of the five Bandit IFs had crew. During the second race, a sixth skipper started, but he called it quits for one race.

We had three great races. Four of the six skippers were evenly matched, and during the first and third races we had a compact fleet of four boats, which kept things exciting until the end. During the second race, the fleet broke up immediately after the start, only to reunite for the first mark and then split up again.

There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through all races and it was another successful and sporting day for North Sea Racing.

A beautiful Thursday afternoon in June. A beautiful day for Triple Threat with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea was behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky.

Today we had ten Bandits at the starting line of the first race. They were six Bandit 22 LTEs and four Bandit IFs. Two Bandit IFs and two of the 22s had crew on board. One of the IFs withdrew from the first race for personal reasons. Another skipper had to drop out during the race as well.

Today we had two great races. There were fights between the skippers. After the finish of the first race I had two skippers in my IM. something had happened at the finish line. However, it was no longer possible to give away a 360°. Because of this, I used a new solution, which one of the skippers came up with, to write out the 360°, by adding the time it takes for one skipper to the end time of the other skipper, eliminating the need for a DSQ.

There were three DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Director: Cryptic

Wind: 225° (SW) 18kts

Wind: 225° (SW) 18kts

Note:

Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winners on the Bandit 22 LTE were Jenna (jnx1e Resident), with Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) second, and Cilian (Cilian McCullough) in third place.

Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Moon (moonglownight Resident), with Julie (JulieRoyale Resident) second, and Shadow (Shadow McConach) in third place.

Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
