Mild seas, with another great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The North Regions had some chop during the small boat portion, as two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded. One of those DNFs was from a skipper crashing from a rough region crossing, with the remainder due to a skipper pulling her boat after a rough crossing left her camera view failing. The choppy seas subsided as they only DNF recorded during the big boat portion was due to a skipper crashing from crossing on region corners. The crowds that gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, in the Eden Jakana region, and along the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, cheered on some exciting fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Bowline course, was made up of a split majority of three Bandit 22 LTEs and three The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, two sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively. Two Bandit IFs, one sailing crewed and one sailing single-handed, two TMS Flying Shadows, two TMS Nacra 17s, two Dolphin Moths, one TMS Laser One, and one Bandit F rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Butterfly course, was made up of a majority of five TMS I-Mocca 60s. Three WildWind Open 60s, one WildWind AC-45, one WildWind RC-44r, one Trudeau 12 Metre, one Bandit 50/3 X, and one TMS Pacha 110 rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.
