Another nice fleet turnout and smooth seas featured during this weeks North Sea Bandit IF Races. The regions of the Fruit Islands, Eden Naturist Estate, and the North Sea, behaved well as only one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. Spectators continued another week of gathering on the island in the Ziziphus region, and on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Lapwing region, to enjoy the racing display put on by the fleet. This weeks fleet was made up of nine Bandit IFs, eight single-handed and one crewed respectively.
The fleets passes north of the island in the Ziziphus region, during the first race of the North Sea Bandit IF Races, on Saturday, June 1st, 2019.

Today’s winner was UL (ultramantra Resident), with Ian (IanPixel Resident) second, and Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Notes:
Sasha (sasha714 Resident) was disqualified during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, she sailed course 103 instead of 101.
Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) was disqualified during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, he missed the second course mark.
UL (ultramantra Resident) and Ian (IanPixel Resident) both finished tied with 4 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“

“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
