This weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on a slightly stormy Saturday afternoon in February. We had six bandit IFs at the start. One Bandit IF had crew on board.
The fleet set out with Julie in the lead. Moon, Siri and Darb at an appropriate distance. As the match progressed, Moon and Siri joined Julie. Darb and Marcus soon became distant.
At the start of the second race, Julie took the lead again. She was immediately followed by Siri, Moon, and Rugger. Halfway through the race, a storm (https://status.secondlifegrid.net/incidents/qjsnz431kdqm) was created by SL™. This caused Julie, and Siri to lose their way. Moon, and Rugger took advantage of this. Julie, and Siri had to pull out all the stops to reconnect with Moon, and Rugger. Rugger was still overtaken, but Moon had the lead for good
Finally, it was time. The third and final race of the day. The storm had passed again. And a seventh sailor joined the party. This time it was crowded at the starting line. Moon, Julie, Siri, Jack, and Rugger left almost simultaneously. The quintet headed for the first mark in good spirits. Here Julie took the lead. Moon followed in her wake. Jack had to drop out. At the turning point, Julie was still in charge. She wouldn’t let this one go
There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and two DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
