This week, the North Sea Open Regatta became the Trudeau Handicap Regatta as we held our third event for the Eden Trudeau Regatta Week. We had a fantastic turnout of Trudeau Classic Yachts in the fleet along with spectators gathering around the usual spots in the North Sea and Eden. We once again restarted all the North Sea estate sims 3 hours before the race to great results, as sailing was smooth with no crashes due to sim performance or crossings. We had large of spectators show up in Eden Albatros, Eden Puffin, Breadnut, and Ziziphus to view the classic yacht composed fleet.
This weeks special fleet, racing three races on North Sea Olympic Course (long), was comprised of a majority of four Patchouge IIs. Two Francois Jacques, two Trudeau Ones, two 12 Metres, and one Leetle Cat II made up the remainder of the fleet. The fleet along with the Trudeau collection, rezzed by Eden and North Sea estate owner Elbag Gable in the Eden Puffin region, created a truly elegant classic flair for the day.

Today’s winner was Lampoon (Lampoon Destiny), with Peter (PeterSailor Resident) second, and Lucy (LucyInTheSky Afarensis) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Note:
Cole (Colette Verino) and Red (RedHeadJO Resident) both finished tied with 21 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
Colette Verino | 1 | 9 | 11 |
RedHeadJO Resident | 6 | 7 | 8 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Cole’s favor with having a first place finish over Red’s sixth place finish as her best.
