This Thursday afternoon was a great day for the Triple Threat, with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea behaved well.

Today we had thirteen Bandits at the starting line of the first race. There were five Bandit 22 LTEs, and eight Bandit IFs. Two 22s and one IF had crew on board. We had two great races.

There was four DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

A beautiful Thursday afternoon in August was a great day for the Triple Threat, with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea behaved well, however, a thunderstorm arose in the second race, causing problems for several skippers.

Today we had eleven bandits at the starting line of the first race. There were six Bandit 22 LTEs, and five Bandit IFs.

We had two great races. Two skippers controlled the two races from start to finish. Other skippers had battles with each other.

There were three DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQ (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

We had two great races. There were close fights between the skippers. In the first race, the battle for first place in the IF class was fought all the way to the finish line. In the second race, the battle for the second place was fought in the 22 class all the way to the finish line

There were two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQ (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Thursday Triple Threat – July 15th 2021

A beautiful Thursday afternoon in July was a great day for the Triple Threat, with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky.

Today, we had seven Bandit IFs at the starting line of the first race. At the start of the second race one IF and one B22 joined the party. And one of the IFs got crew on board.

We had two great races. There were close fights between all the skippers.

There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

A beautiful Thursday afternoon in July was a great day for the Triple Threat, with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky.

Today, we had ten Bandits at the starting line of the first race. They were six Bandit 22 LTEs and four Bandit IFs One Bandit IF had crew on board.

We had two great races. There were close fights between all the skippers.

Race Notes:
Flapio  (Flapio Resident) was disqualified (DSQ) during the first race for finishing under protest while failing to complete a 360° penalty turn due to a Rule 10 On Opposite Tacks foul in the Raspberry Region.

“10 ON OPPOSITE TACKS
When boats are on opposite tacks, a port-tack boat shall keep clear of a starboard-tack boat.“

Juicy ( juice651 Resident) was disqualified (DSQ) during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, rounding the fifth race mark clockwise instead of counter-clockwise, the Pink buoy in the Bilberry region.

Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) and Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) finished tied with 3 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
