A beautiful Thursday afternoon in June. A beautiful day for Triple Threat with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea was behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky.

Today we had ten Bandits at the starting line of the first race. They were six Bandit 22 LTEs and four Bandit IFs. Two Bandit IFs and two of the 22s had crew on board. One of the IFs withdrew from the first race for personal reasons. Another skipper had to drop out during the race as well.

Today we had two great races. There were fights between the skippers. After the finish of the first race I had two skippers in my IM. something had happened at the finish line. However, it was no longer possible to give away a 360°. Because of this, I used a new solution, which one of the skippers came up with, to write out the 360°, by adding the time it takes for one skipper to the end time of the other skipper, eliminating the need for a DSQ.

There were three DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

This weeks Triple Threat featured good wind coming from the southwest on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in May. The North Sea and Eden regions behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky.

We had 12 Bandits at the start line of the first race. The fleet was made up of seven Bandit 22 LTEs and five Bandit IFs. A Bandit IF and a Bandit 22 had crew on board.

Today was the day we used three old cards but with unchanged race marks. At first the skippers would enter the races without USBs (Ultimate Sailor Buddy navigation notecards), but a few hours before the race I found two USBs that were still good and I quickly made a USB for the third race. Eventually it turned out that sailing between islands is a different story than sailing on the open sea. In the first two races, the skippers took different routes between the race marks. However, things did not go well here and there. Apart from that, the three races would be great races. There were closely fought battles between all the skippers.

We had six DNFs (Did Not Finish) and six DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Saturday saw the North Sea Bandit IF races take place on a beautiful fall afternoon. This time we had a fleet of nine Bandit IFs at the start. Two of the nine Bandit IFs had crew. The North Sea regions and Eden Naturist Estate regions were well behaved and there was not a cloud in the sky.

We had a good start and one of the skippers started from port tack and immediately took the lead over the group of eight. The first mark was completed without any problems. Halfway through Eden we had a front runner with two pursuers, followed by another group of two. After the race ended, we had an extended fleet. The leader took a completely different route to the finish than all other skippers.

The start of the second race went very well. The group of eight boats stayed together until the first mark and on the way to Eden we had a group of three skippers sailing together head to head. In the Eden Pigeon region, the leading group was still well together and it seemed that the race would be settled on the finish line. However, one of the skippers said goodbye to the two other front runners by sailing a different route. This decision made the race’s outcome decided by the time they were in the Eden Sparrow region.

The start of the third race went well. The remaining seven boats stayed together until after the first mark in the Sapodilla region. After the fleet entered Eden past the two statues in the Eden Gateway region, we had a front runner with three pursuers. In the new region “Smooth Sailing”, the front runner was overtaken by the chasing group. At the Eden Pigeon region, one of the front runners took a different route to the last mark in the Eden Snowfinch region, as it turned out that the leading group had been given a different order. Two of the front runners here took away from the third boat and decided the race on the finish line.

We had two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQ (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporting day in The North Sea.

Saturday afternoon. A beautiful Saturday afternoon, at the end of a hot summer, with good sailing weather and not a single thunderstorm to be seen. Today we invited several classes to make this Saturday afternoon a special competition. So we had six Bandit IF’s and six Bandit 22 LTEs, with one IF having crew on board.
Just like last weeks, the boats would all start simultaneously, but this would mean that two races would take place at the same time.

We had a good start again. The first mark was rounded nicely and then everyone made their own way through Eden.

In the second race we did this again, but in reverse order.

We had seven DNFs (Did Not Finish) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
