The fourth North Sea Bandit IF Regatta for April, 2023, saw a great April afternoon. We had seven Bandit IFs at the start. At the start of the first race, Julie took the lead, closely followed by Siri. At the first mark, Moon came alongside. This created a three-boat battle for first place. In the Sloe region, Julie had taken over the lead, followed by Moon and Siri. Jack followed in fourth. Jack fought his way back to third. Moon didn’t give up yet and in the end the race would be decided on the finish line.
During the first race a skipper had to give up due to RL obligations. Another skipper declined to participate in the second race.
In the second race Siri, Julie and Moon were evenly matched again. Siri first entered into a duel with Julie. Moon let the two battle and he immediately took the lead. But, Siri and Julie came back and Siri had taken the lead in rounding the isle of Ziziphus. Moon followed in second and Julie couldn’t help but follow. After lapping the isle of Genip, Moon took the lead again. but now closely followed by Julie. Siri was now third. Moon and Julie now engaged in a direct battle, And at the next mark it turned out that Siri was not lost yet. He turned around the buoy second. But Moon and Julie kept an eye on each other. After rounding up the isle of Satsuma, Moon and Julie had now distanced themselves from Siri. And in the region Cherry, Julie took over the lead from Moon.
Whoever says Bandit IF are boring boats has never seen a competition like this one today.
There were was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
