The remaining DNF, also recorded during the second race, was from a skipper’s viewer crashing to her desktop while in the middle of a region. The crowds that gathered on the beaches on the islands in the Ziziphus, and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, relished the fresh fleet-foiled feline fire on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long) and the North Sea Extreme course, was made up of a majority of seven The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, six sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively. One TMS Nacra 17 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet in the first race. One Flying Shadow skipper opted to switch to his Nacra 17 for the second race.

Great sim sailing weather, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the last North Sea Open Regatta for August, 2022. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, The North Sea regions were well behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF, occurring during the small boat portion, was due to a skipper crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, reveled in an electric display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long), was made up of a majority of five Bandit 22 LTEs. Two Bandit IFs, one sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively, one The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadow, and one TMS Nacra 17 rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Torpedo course, was made up of a majority of three TMS I-Mocca 60s. One TMS One Design 65, one TMS Ushuaia, one Bandit 60, and one WildWind AC-62 rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
Dianafra Allen 6 7
Maximiliano Szondi 6 8

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
Dianafra Allen 8 6
Maximiliano Szondi 6 8

In the last race, Diana breaks the tie with Max with her sixth place finish over Max’s eighth place finish.
