Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, The North Sea regions were mostly behaved as three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. One DNF, occurring during the small boat portion, was due to a skipper deleting her boat after frustration from hitting the race dock right before the finish. The remaining two DNFs, occurring one a piece in each portion respectively, were from skippers crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, took in a thrilling display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink course, was made up of a majority of five Bandit 22 LTEs. Two The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, one Bandit 25R, one Quest 2m, one TMS Nacra 17, and one TMS Sea Boss – Rider rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Extreme course, was made up of a small majority of two TMS I-Mocca 60s. One TMS Volvo Open 70, one WildWind Open 60, one WildWind RC-44r, one Isard Machichaco, and one TMS Ocean Beach rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.

However, one Fruit Islands region was slightly stormy, causing some lag issues for a skipper deep into the second race. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the islands in the Genip, and Ziziphus regions, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the frenzied fleet-foiled feline fever on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink and North Sea Extreme courses, was made up of a majority of four The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows. One TMS Nacra 17, and one WildWind AC-45 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.

Mostly calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, rising to 21 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were well behaved as two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on they day. The first DNF occurred during the first race, as a skipper crashed while crossing across region corners. The remaining DNF occurred during the second race due to a skipper pulling her boat after running aground on an island. The crowds that gathered at the lighthouses on the islands in the Genip, and Ziziphus regions, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the furious fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Bowline Reverse and North Sea Extreme courses, was made up of a majority of seven The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, four sailing single-handed and three sailing crewed respectively. Two TMS Nacra 17s rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.
