A beautiful Thursday afternoon, with good sailing weather, the wind coming from the south west, and no sign of a thunderstorm. Today we had eight Bandit IFs and three Bandit 22 LTEs, with one IF having extra crew on board.

The start of the first race went smoothly and it was going to be a great race with the three 22s split from the eight IFs right from the start. Out of these eight Bandit IFs, two boats would split off from the other six.

The start of the second race was almost the same as the first race. The three 22s took the lead right from the start. The seven Bandit IFs followed closely behind. The race ran through the heart of the Appleberry region.

We had one DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Calm seas and a great fleet turnout highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The regions of The North Sea behaved well for most as the Cat Fight took to the western portion of The North Sea estate, sailing from the Eden Jaeger race line. Two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, both during the first race. Of those two DNFs, one was due to a skipper crashing while crossing on region corners and the other was from a crash on a region crossing. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the islands in the Eden Auk, and Genip regions, as well as along the shore of the Pelican Sailing School, in the Eden Murrelet region, cheered on the fleet-fouled feline frenzy from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Thornback and North Sea Barracuda courses, was comprised of a majority of seven The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, four sailing with crew and three sailing single-handed respectively. Three TMS Nacra 17s rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.

Smooth seas, that turned choppy late, with a nice fleet turnout highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The regions of the North Sea behaved beautifully for the skippers during the first race, a jaunt across the entire North Sea estate, from the Eden Curlew region race line to the Eden Jaeger region race line. The seas turned a bit choppy for the second race, as three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded, two DNFs from skippers crashing and the third from a skipper pulling his boat after putting up an admirable fight against the 21 knot prevailing winds that gusted late. The spectators on hand, scattered along the race course on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus, Genip, and Eden Auk regions, as well as on the small race dock in the Eden Jaeger region, were reveling in the fleet-foiled flying feline frenzy put on by this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Curlew to Jaeger 01 and North Sea Barracuda courses, was comprised of a majority of six The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, five sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively. One lone Wildwind AC-45 made up the remainder of the fleet during the first race. The second race saw a shift in composition as the Wildind AC-45 skipper switched to her TMS Nacra 17, a single-handed Flying Shadow skipper jumped on as crew with another TMS Flying Shadow skipper, and another TMS Flying Shadow skipper picked up crew of her own.
