This weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on another beautiful Saturday afternoon in March. This week, we had eight bandit IFs at the start. One Bandit IF had crew on board.

In the first race, Rugger took the lead. But he was soon caught up by Moon. This was already over the fleet at the first mark. Rugger got hooked up with Siri, and Julie. Tamar tried to hook up. Rugger slowly walked away from Julie, and Siri, who got into a battle for third place. Tamar continued to follow this from a distance. Beyond Genip, Rugger was overtaken by Julie, and Siri. However, both fell out of their boat and this put them back at a distance from Rugger. Tamar picked up on Julie, and they both gave chase to Rugger. Meanwhile, Siri, and Jack were also fighting, Rugger had to let Julie go ahead at the finish.

During the second race, Rugger took the lead. However, he was soon overtaken by Julie, and Siri. Tamar got into a fight with Moon. When she reached the first mark, Julie was in charge of the fleet. The group was still close together. On the way to Sloe, a chasing pair had formed behind Julie, Moon, and Siri. It seemed like a race, but Moon was the unlucky one who got too close to my windsetter and got the wrong wind settings. Unfortunately, he had to give up. Meanwhile, Tamar had taken on Rugger again.

There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Note: With the onset of DST in the United States, Canada, and most of Mexico last Sunday, SL time (PST) is now one hour ahead. However, Europe will not be entering EU Summer Time until Sunday, March 26th. In order to facilitate that our races are still at a friendly time for our sailors, we will be running our races one SL hour later, but still at the same time GMT/CET.

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
Jacquimo Resident 5 3
Tamara Czervik 3 5

In the last race, Jack breaks the tie with Tamara with his third place finish over Tamar’s fifth place finish.
