Another wonderful Saturday afternoon in March. We had five Bandit IFs at the start.
Julie took the lead in the first race. She was followed by Siri, Rugger and Red. Jack took another line. After the bouy, Jack had joined the other four. At the turning point, Julie was in charge, followed by Siri. Rugger and Red battled for third place, which Rugger would eventually win.
During the second race, Red took the lead. She was closely followed by Julie, Siri, and Rugger. Jack had found yet another line. Rugger had to drop out quickly. On the way to the Canistel region, each skipper went his own way. Here it turned out that Red was still first, but that Julie had taken over second place from Siri. In the Tamarind region, Julie took over the lead position from Red. After this, Red, Siri and Jack made the decision to take a different line from Julie, hoping they could make a move. But this put Julie ahead of the fleet. In Morinda, however, Julie suffered a breakdown and had to watch as it left her behind.
There were two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Today’s winners were Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Siri (Sirius Rosca) second, and Red (RedHeadJO Resident) in third place.

Julie (JulieRoyale Resident) and Siri (Sirius Rosca) both finished tied with 4 points. Rule A8.1 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Julie’s favor with having a first place finish over Siri’s second place finish as his best.
