Calm seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. With a moderate breeze of 11 knots out of the southwest, rising to 15 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were well behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF, recorded during the first lap of the second race, was due to a skipper crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the lighthouse observation deck on the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, delighted in a dynamic display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Short) and a two lap affair on the North Sea Short Loop course, was made up of a majority of nine Bandit 22 LTEs. Four Bandit IFs, one Bandit 25 R, and one Bandit 60 rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.
