Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. With a moderate breeze of 15 knots out of the southwest, rising to a fresh breeze of 18 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were well behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF, occurring during the first race, was due to a skippers internet connection dying on her during the race. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, were thrilled by an exciting display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta and North Sea Manta Reverse courses, was made up of a split majority of four Bandit IFs, and four Bandit 22 LTEs. One Bandit 25 R, and one Bandit 60 rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet in the first race. One Bandit IF skipper opted to switch to her Bandit 22, and another skipper joined the fleet with a Bandit 22 for the second race.
