Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the Halloween edition of the North Sea Bandit Regatta. With a moderate breeze of 15 knots out of the southwest, rising to a fresh breeze of 18 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were well behaved as two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. Both DNFs, occurring during the first race, were due to skippers crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the lighthouse observation deck of the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, enjoyed a spirited display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Bowline and North Sea Bowline Reverse courses, was made up of a majority of five Bandit IFs. Two Bandit 22 LTEs, and one Bandit 25 R rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet in the first race. For the second race, One Bandit 22 skipper opted for his Bandit IF, another Bandit IF skipper picked up crew, and a late arrival added a Bandit 22 to the fleet.
