The last North Sea Bandit IF Regatta for October, 2022, took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We started with 5 bandit IFs. I had again instructed the skippers to make a route and sail on the basis of a list of landmarks. This didn’t go well, because everyone was sailing in a different direction. As a result, the first route is not included in the final result of the day. Nevertheless, it was educational and fun to see the skippers sail with their own USB, without a USB card provided, or manually with the help of the world map.

One skipper had to leave the field before the start of the second race, but two other skippers joined the fleet. We had a good start and Julie took the lead right away. Followed by Rugger, Moon and Siri. Moon immediately gave chase to Rugger who had to recognize Moon as superior at the end of the match. Siri also made it difficult for Rugger in the last meters. But it just held up as we approached the finish line. The result of the second match is the only one that counts towards the final result of the day.

There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Directors: Tarmarushka, and Cryptic

Wind: 225° (SW) 18kts

Wind: 230° (SW) 18kts

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winners were Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Moon (Moonglownight Resident) second, and Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) in third place.

Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
