Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the last North Sea Open Regatta of October, 2022. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, The North Sea regions were generally well behaved as four DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. Three of the four DNFs, were due to skippers crashing as they crossed over region corners. The remaining DNF was due to a skipper pulling her boar immediately after the start of the small boat portion. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, enjoyed a thrilling display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long) course, was made up of a majority of three Bandit 22 LTEs. Two The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, split evenly with one crewed and one single-handed respectively, two Bandit IFs, and one TMS Sea Boss – Rider rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Butterfly course, was made up of a majority of three TMS I-Mocca 60s. One Trudeau 12 Metre rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.
