Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots out of the southwest, building to 21 knots during the second race, The North Sea regions were well behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF, occurring during the second race, was due to a skipper crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, delighted in the thrilling fleet-foiled feline furor on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea CCW (counter-clockwise) and North Sea Roundabout courses, was made up of a majority of five The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, four sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively. One TMS Nacra 17, and one WildWind AC-62 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.
