Another week of great sim sailing weather, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the last Cat Fight in The North Sea for July, 2022. The North Sea regions were calm and smooth as no DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, were thrilled by the frenetic fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Double Loop and North Sea Snipe courses, was made up of a majority of four The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, three sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively. One WildWind AC-45, and one WildWind AC-62 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet in the first race. A Flying Shadow skipper opted for his TMS Nacra 17 for the second race.

Race Notes:
Emileigh (Emileigh Starbrook) was disqualified (DSQ) during the second race due to sailing an incorrect course, rounding the red buoy in the Cocoa region, the fifth course mark, counter-clockwise instead of clockwise.
Daenerys (blondij Resident) and Moon (moonglownight Resident) finished tied with 3 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
