Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The North Sea regions were generally well behaved as three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. The first DNF, occurring during the first race, was due to a skipper crashing to their desktop in the middle of the Nance region. The remaining two DNFs, occurring during the second race, were due to skippers crashing while sailing over region corners. The crowds that gathered along the beaches on the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, reveled in a thrilling display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta and North Sea Bowline courses, was made up of a majority of nine Bandit 22 LTEs. Three Bandit IFs, two sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively, rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.

Race Notes:
Sea (filax Carter) was disqualifed (DSQ) during the second race for finishing under protest while failing to complete a 360° penalty turn due to a Rule 11 On The Same Tack, Overlapped foul committed right before the finish line.
“11 ON THE SAME TACK, OVERLAPPED
When boats are on the same tack and overlapped, a windward boat shall keep clear of a leeward boat.“
