Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The North Sea regions were well behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF, occurring during the first race, was due to a skipper crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the feverish fleet-foiled feline flurry on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink and North Sea Snipe courses, was made up of a majority of three The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, two sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively. Two WildWind AC-62s, and one TMS Nacra 17 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet in the first race. For the second race, an AC-62 skipper opted for her WildWind AC-45, and a Flying Shadow skipper opted for his Nacra 17 instead.
