This weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on another beautiful Saturday afternoon in June. We started with ten Bandit IFs. One of the Bandit IFs had crew on board. The start of the first race was almost flawless. Dunia started from port and collided with Fanny. During the first leg, the fleet split up. Five skippers headed south, while the other five skippers headed west. At the first mark, Julie had already taken a small lead over Fanny, Moon, and Rugger. The other sailors had already fallen far behind. During the race, Julie slowly walked out on Fanny, and Moon. Rugger had to let the three leaders go.
During the start of the second race, the fleet was pressed near the Race Committee boat. A compact fleet of 8 boats set out for the first mark. Julie, Zero, and Moon took a slight lead. En route to the first mark, Moon and Julie would compete in a heated battle to see who would complete the mark first. This was supposed to be Moon, but Julie did not give up yet and rounded the second mark first. Fanny was now hot on their heels and was followed again by Zero.
There were no DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
