Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted the first North Sea Open Regatta for June 2022. The North Sea regions were well behaved as no DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus, and Genip regions, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on an exciting display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.
This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long), was made up of majority of six Bandit 22 LTEs. One The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, one Shields Class, one Bandit IF, and one Bandit 25r rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Butterfly course, was made up of a majority of four TMS I-Mocca 60s. One TMS Volvo Open 70, one WildWind Open 60, one Bandit 60, one Trudeau 12 Metre, and one ACA33 rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.
