Calm seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The North Sea regions were generally well behaved as four DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. Two of those DNFs, occurring during the first race, were from skippers pulling their boats. The remaining two DNFs, occurring during the second race, were from a skipper’s connection dying on her, and crash to desktop in the middle of a region for another skipper. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on a thrilling display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea SS-01 and North Sea Trapezoid courses, was made up of a majority of nine Bandit 22 LTEs. Three Bandit IFs, two sailing single-handed and one crewed respectively, and two Bandit 25Rs rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.
