A beautiful Thursday afternoon in April with good sailing weather coming from the west-southwest was the background for this weeks North Sea Triple Threat. Today we had five Bandit 22 LTEs, one The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, and five Bandit IFs at the starting line. A Star Class had crew on board.

We would have two beautiful races, the wind direction would play a major role in this. The fleets were evenly matched. However, several IFs skippers had bad luck in both races

There were two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQ (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Directors: Tamarushka, and Cryptic

Wind: 250° (WSW) 18kts

Wind: 260° ( W) 18kts

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Julie (JulieRoyale), with Jack (Jacquimo Resident) second, and Rugger (Ruggeromare Resident) in third place.

Today’s winners on the Bandit 22 LTE were Nicole (Nicole Myhre), with Sea (filax Carter) second, and Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) in third place.

Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Ester (citacg Resident) was disqualified (DSQ) during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, missing the twelfth course mark, the blue buoy in the Sapote region.

Alex (Alex0730 Resident) and Ester (citacg Resident) finished tied with 9 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
Alex0730 Resident 5 4
citacg Resident 4 5

In the last race, Alex breaks the tie with Ester with his fourth place finish over Ester’s fifth place finish.
