Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The North Sea regions were generally behaved as three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. All three DNFs, one during the small boat portion and two during the big boat portion, were due to skippers crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered on the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region, and along the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on a great display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Copacabana course, was made up of a majority of six Bandit 22 LTEs. Two Bandit IFs, two Shield Class, one crewed The Mesh Shap (TMS) Star Class, and one Isard Sjogin rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long), was made up of a split majority of four TMS I-Mocca 60s and four WildWind Open 60s. One TMS One Design 65, one ACA33, one WildWind RC-44r, one WildWind AC-62, and one Bandit 60 rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.

Note: As of the posting of these results, the handicaps for the WildWind AC-62 have been adjusted from 1.60, to 1.61, and the ACA33 have been adjusted from 0.87, to 0.89. For more of our handicaps and the link to the Google Sheets used to calculate them, please see North Sea Handicap Table.
