The last North Sea Triple Threat of March took place on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, with good sailing weather coming from the southwest. Today we had one Bandit 22 LTE, five Bandit IFs and four Star Class at the starting line. A Bandit IF and Star Class had crew on board.
Today we had two great races. Because the 22s started last, we got a completely different picture because the fleets were overtaking each other.
There were two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQ (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Directors: Tamarushka, and Cryptic

Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Siri (Sirius Rosca) second, and Moon (Moonglownight Resident) in third place.
Today’s winners on the Bandit 22 LTE were Emi (Emileigh Starbrook), with Ester (citacg Resident) second, and Max (Maximiliano Szondi) in third place.
Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Notes:
Alex (Alex0730 Resident) was disqualified (DSQ) during the first race for failing to complete a 360° penalty turn as directed by a race director due to a Rule 10 On Opposite Tacks foul.
“10 ON OPPOSITE TACKS
When boats are on opposite tacks, a port-tack boat shall keep clear of a starboard-tack boat.“

Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) and Jack (Jacquimo Resident) both finished tied with 8 points. Rule A8.1 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
ruggeromare Resident | 3 | 5 |
Jacquimo Resident | 4 | 4 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Rugger’s favor with having a third place finish over Jack’s fourth place finish as his best.
