Today’s North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in March. This time we had a fleet of seven Bandit IFs at the start. One of the seven Bandit IFs had crew. The North Sea and Fruit Regions behaved well. But none the less, different skippers would end up in a thunderstorm.

We had two great Races. A skipper had to give up at Mango. The other skippers would fight to the end and however, there was a skipper who was allowed to put the competitions in her name.

There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Directors: Tamarushka, and Cryptic

Wind: 170° (S) 18kts

Wind: 190° (S) 18kts

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Julie (JulieRoyale), with Jack (Jacquimo Resident) second, and Siri (Sirius Rosca) in third place.

Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Max (Max Starostin) and Kim (Kim Farleigh) finished tied with 11 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
Max Starostin 6 5
Kim Farleigh 5 6

In the last race, Max breaks the tie with Kim with his fifth place finish over Kim’s sixth place finish.
