Calm seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. With a fresh breeze of 18 knots coming out of the southwest, rising to 21 knots during the second race, The North Sea Regions were generally well behaved with one DNF (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day. The lone DNF was due to a skipper crashing as she crossed across region corners. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the frenetic fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink and North Sea Extreme Reverse courses, was made up of a majority of three The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, two sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively. Two WildWind AC-45s, and one TMS Nacra 17 rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.
