Smooth sim sailing weather, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The North Sea regions were decently behaved as one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day. The lone DNF was due to a skippers internet connection dying on them. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, as well as on the small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta and North Sea Snipe courses, was made up of a majority of three The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows. Two TMS Nacra 17s, and two WildWind AC-45s rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.

Today’s winner was Daenerys (blondij Resident), with Moon (moonglownight Resident) second, and Juicy (juice651 Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Rayz (Rayzza Rubble) was disqualified (DSQ) during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, missing the last course mark, the blue buoy in the Sapote region.
Juicy (juice651 Resident), Rayz (Rayzza Rubble), and Sea (filax Carter) all finished tied with 9 points. Rule A8.1 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
|Skipper||Best Finish||Next Best Finish|
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Juicy’s and Rayz’s favor with having third place finishes over Sea’s fourth place finish as her best.
As Juicy and Rayz both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this remaining tie:
“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
|Skipper||Race 1||Race 2|
In the last race, Juicy breaks the tie with Rayz with his third place finish over Rayz’s sixth place finish.
