In the last North Sea Thursday Triple Threat race in January, after several skippers kept changing their boat choice, we had a fleet of thirteen Bandits at the raceline just before the starting signal. We had seven Bandit 22 LTEs and six Bandit IFs. Two Bandit 22s and one Bandit IF had crew on board. A skipper had started too soon and did not want to come back. Another skipper had technical problems. As a result, they dropped out of the race. The Bandit 22s race was exciting until the end. With the Bandit IF’s the tone was soon controlled given by one skipper.

There were five DNFs (Did Not Finish) and one DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Directors: Red, and Cryptic

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start + 1

Today’s winners on the Bandit 22 LTE were Sea (filax Carter), with Nicole (Nicole Myhre) second, and Cate (Cate Sewell) in third place.

Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Jack (Jacquimo Resident), with Siri (Sirius Rosca) second, and Julia (Geneer Gynoid) in third place.

Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Rugger (Ruggeromare Resident) was disqualified (DSQ) during the first race for starting too early, and never circling back to properly restart.

Sea (filax Carter), Nicole (Nicole Myhre), and Cate (Cate Sewell) all finished tied with 5 points. Rule A8.1 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

As Nicole and Cate both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to further break this tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race.
