Stormy seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The North Sea regions were generally behaved with only one DNF (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day, due to a skipper crashing while crossing a region corner in the small boat portion. Yet, Secondlife™ itself was not in the best of shape, with Amazon (the host of Linden Research™’s (LL) services) suffering an outage throughout the morning. Our skippers endured the rough virtual seas, as LL still had not issued the all clear by the time the Open Regatta ended.

The crowds that gathered along the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, as well as on the small race dock and Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on a festive display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea CCW (Counter-Clockwise) course, was made up of a majority of five Bandit 22 LTEs. Three Bandit IFs, two sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively, and one The Mesh Shop (TMS) Laser One rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Double Loop course, was made up of a majority of three TMS I-Mocca 60s. One Bandit 55, one WildWind Open 60, and one Trudeau 12 Metre rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.
