Another Thursday afternoon of November was a beautiful day for Triple Threat, with good sailing weather coming in from the southwest. The North Sea regions behaved well.
Today we had eleven Bandits and one Star Class at the starting line of the first race. There were eight Bandit 22 LTEs, and three Bandit IFs. An other Bandit 22 joined the fleet just after the start of the first race. We had exciting races. And the fleets would cross twice in the second race.
There was one DNF (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through both races and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
Race Director: Daenerys
Assistant Race Director: Tamarushka, and Cryptic
Wind: 230° (SW) 18kts
Wind: 220° (SW) 18kts
Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Disqualified (DSQ) = number of finish + number of DNFs + 1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1
Today’s winners on the Bandit 22 LTE were Sea (filax Carter), with Moonglownight (Moonglownight Resident) second, and Emileigh (Emileigh Starbrook) in third place.
Today’s winners on the Bandit IF were Jackson (Jacquimo Resident), with Siri (Sirius Rosca) second, and Max (Maximiliano Szondi) in third place..
Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Notes:
Emileigh (Emileigh Starbrook) and Juicy (juice651 Resident) both finished tied with 8 points. Rule A8.1 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
Emileigh Starbrook | 1 | 7 |
juice651 Resident | 4 | 4 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Emileigh’s favor with having a first place finish over Juicy’s fourth place finish as his best.
