Great sim sailing weather and fleet turnout highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. With a gentle breeze of 8 knots from the southwest, building to a moderate breeze of 11 knots in the second race, the North Sea regions were calm for everyone as the only DNFs (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day were from two skippers crashing while crossing over region corners, and one skipper’s computer crashing. The crowds that gathered on the observation deck of the lighthouse on the island in the Ziziphus region, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on some feisty fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Short) and a 2 lap affair on the North Sea Short Loop course, was made up of a majority of seven Bandit IFs, six sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively. Six Bandit 22 LTEs rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.
