Calm to minimally choppy seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. With a moderate breeze of 18 knots from the southwest, The North Sea regions were generally behaved with the exception of two DNFs (Did Not Finish) on the day. Both DNFs were due to skippers crashing on region crossings, one in each portion of the regatta respectively. The crowds that gathered along the beaches of the islands in the Genip and Ziziphus regions, as well as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on a competitive display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers.
This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea CCW (Counter-Clockwise) course, was made up of a split majority of four Bandit IFs and four Bandit 22 LTEs. One The Mesh Shop (TMS) Nacra 17, one Dolphin Moth, and one Isard Sjogin rounded out the small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Butterfly course, was made up of small split majority of two TMS I-Mocca 60s and two WildWind Open 60s. One TMS One Design 65, one TMS Ushuaia, one Bandit 55, and one Trudeau 12 Metre rounded out the big boat fleet.

Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
