Calm seas, with a nice great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The North Sea regions were well behaved as all the DNFs (Did Not Finish) recorded on the day, two in the small boat portion and two in the big boat portion respectively, were due to skippers crashing while crossing over region corners. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the island in the Ziziphus regions, as well as on the small boat dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the competitive display of fleet racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks small boat fleet, sailing a two lap affair on the North Sea Short Loop course, was made up of a split majority of four Bandit 22 TLEs and four Bandit IFs. Two The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class, one sailing single-handed and one sailing crewed respectively, two TMS Nacra 17s, one TMS Flying Shadow, and one Dolphin Moth rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long) was made up of a majority of five TMS I-Mocca 60s. Three TMS Ushuaias, one TMS One Design 65, and one WildWind RC-44r rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.

Note: The handicap for The Mesh Shop Ushuaia has been updated to 0.68, from 0.65, as of the publishing of this post. Please see the North Sea Handicap Table for our handicap table and the link to the Google Sheet used to calculate those values.
