Smooth to slightly choppy seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The North Sea regions were calm for the fleet during the first race as every skipper finished. However, the waters grew a bit rough during the second race as three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded. Of those three DNFs, two were due to skippers crashing while crossing across region corners. The remaining DNF was due to skipper crashing on a region crossing. The crowds that gathered along the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region, and on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on some great sailing on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet for the first race, sailing on the North Sea SS-01 (Second Sailstice) course, was made up of a majority if seven Bandit 22 LTEs. Three Bandit IFs, two sailing crewed and one sailing single-handed respectively, and one Bandit 25r rounded out the first race fleet. The second race fleet changed things up slightly, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long), with a smaller majority of five Bandit 22 LTEs. Four Bandit IFs, two sailing single-handed and two sailing crewed respectively, one Bandit 50/3, and one Bandit 25r rounded out the second race fleet.
