This weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on a beautiful April Saturday afternoon. With wind coming from the southwest, The North Sea regions behaved well and there was not a cloud in the sky. Today we had a fleet of ten Bandit IFs at the start. Two of the ten Bandit IFs had crew. One of the skippers had to abandon the first race due to technical problems. Today we had three great races. There were closely fought battles between all the skippers.

We had two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and none DSQs (Disqualified) through all races and it was another successful and sporting day in The North Sea.

Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start + 1

Today’s winner was Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Jack (Jacquimo Resident) second, and Moon (Moonglownight Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Jack (Jacquimo Resident) and Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) both finished the first race tied at the finishing line with a time of 11:16. As their final time also remains tied, as they both sailed the same boat, Rule A7 of Appendix A, Scoring, 2021 – 2024 World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing is used to score this tie:

If boats are tied at the finishing line or if a handicap or rating system is used and boats have equal corrected times, the points for the place for which the boats have tied and for the place(s) immediately below shall be added together and divided equally. Boats tied for a race prize shall share it or be given equal prizes.

Therefore, both Jack (Jacquimo Resident) and Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) receive 4.5 points, as the product for the place for which they have tied and for the place immediately below, 4 and 5, added together and divided equally.
