Calm seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The North Sea regions were well behaved as only one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day, from a skipper crashing on a region crossing during the second race. The crowds that gathered on the beaches of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, as wells as on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the Eden Jakana region, cheered on the fine fleet-foiled feline frenzy on display from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Olympic Mirror and North Sea Circle courses, was made up of a small majority of seven The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, four sailing crewed and three sailing single-handed respectively. Six WildWind AC-45s, one Trudeau HepCat, and one TMS Nacra 17 rounded out the fleet in the first race. The fleet makeup changed a bit for the second race as five crewed TMS Flying Shadows, one single-handed TMS Flying Shadow, two WildWind AC-45s, and two Trudeau HepCats took to the water.

Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

  1. Sometimes for us who often crash boats like these can be an asset, not everyone has superconnections or supercomputers and we shouldn’t be penalized for that.

  2. Calm seas, maybe… laggy, certainly!
Enjoyable races nevertheless, even though I was in the one DNF of the day. We could never get the FS to let us both sit back after the major issue at Soncoya simcross. We were many to get stuck there at once, and I think that it’s a bit of a miracle every boats but one finished!
See you all next time for more fun racing! Cheers & bon vent!
