This weeks North Sea Bandit IF Regatta took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in winter, but then turned into a stormy afternoon in the tropical Fruit Islands leaving the majority of the skippers on the rocks. This time we had a fleet of nine Bandit IFs at the start. Two of the eleven Bandit IFs sailed with crew.

After the start of the first race, we had a compact fleet until the first victims reported. This also caused the fleet to fall apart quickly. During the start of the second race, two groups of three boats already formed. Because of this we quickly had a stretched fleet. However, a second storm would lift, causing a number of skippers to end up on the rocks.

We had eight DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through all races and it was another successful and sporting day in The North Sea.

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winner was Moon (moonglownight Resident), with Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) second, and Siri (Sirius Rosca) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), Max (Maximiliano Szondi) and Cate (Cate Sewell) all finished tied with 12 points. As they all have the exact same finishes, finishing with a fifth point finish during the first race and a seventh point finish during the second race respectively, neither Rule A8.1 or Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing will satisfy breaking their tie. Therefore, Julie, Max and Cate remain tied in sixth place overall.
