Saturday was a beautiful afternoon in the winter. This time we had a fleet of eleven Bandit IFs at the start. Two of the twelve Bandit IFs had crew. The North Sea and Fruit regions were well behaved and there was not a cloud in the sky.
For a change, we had the start of the races in DragonFruit. We sailed a surprise route. This route was sailed both clockwise and counter-clockwise.
We had a great start and two groups were formed from the beginning. The entire fleet disappeared the first half of the race between the islands of the Fruit Islands. The first group of six to seven boats was slowly thinned out during the race. Back in the North Sea we had two front runners followed by the remaining four boats from the first group
In the second race, the entire fleet stayed together until they disappeared again between the islands of Fruit. from the third mark (an island) and the fourth mark (an island) the fleet spread out.
We had no DNFs (Did Not Finish) and no DSQs (Disqualified) through all races and it was another successful and sporting day in The North Sea.
The raceline in Dragonfruit, near the Bandit IF Meeting Centre in Appleberry, for today.

Race Notes:
Emi (Emileigh Starbrook) and Amy (Montserrat Naidoo) both finished tied with 13 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
Emileigh Starbrook | 5 | 8 |
Montserrat Naidoo | 6 | 7 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Emi’s favor with having a fifth place finish over Amy’s sixth place finish as her best.
