Calm seas, with another great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The regions of The North Sea were behaved for most as four DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, one during the small boat portion and three during the big boat portion respectively. The small boat portion DNF was due to a skipper crossing on a region border. One of the big boat portion DNFs was due to a skipper pulling their boat after their navigation HUD stopped working, another was from a skipper crossing on region corners, and the third was due to a region crossing crash. The large crowds that gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, in the Eden Jakana region, and on the observation deck of the lighthouse on the island in the Ziziphus region, reveled in the close and exciting fleet racing on display from this weeks skippers.

This weeks small boat fleet, sailing a two lap affair on the North Sea Short Loop course, was comprised of a majority of seven Bandit 22 LTEs. Three The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, two sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively, three TMS Nacra 17s, two Bandit 25Rs, one ReneMarine Clever, and one Trudeau One rounded out this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing a two lap affair on the North Sea Long Loop course, was comprised of a majority of seven Wildwind Open 60s. Three TMS One Design 65s, one TMS Volvo Open 70, one Bandit 50/3, one Wildwind RC-44r, one Wildwind AC-45, one Wildwind AC-62, and one Trudeau 12 Metre rounded out this weeks big boat fleet.
