Calm seas, with a great fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The North Sea regions were calm and clear as no DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, with fleets of 14 and 15 boats all finishing their races. The crowd that gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, in the Eden Jakana region, and then on the observation deck of the lighthouse in the Ziziphus region, for the second race, reveled in the great sailing on display as a product of the calm conditions. This weeks fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Short) and the North Sea Manta Reverse course, was comprised of a majority of seven Bandit IFs, five sailing single-handed and two sailing with crew respectively. Five Bandit 22 LTEs and three Bandit 25Rs rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.

“11 ON THE SAME TACK, OVERLAPPED
When boats are on the same tack and overlapped, a windward boat shall keep clear of a leeward boat.“
