Saturday afternoon was beautiful, with good sailing weather and no thunderstorms to be seen.
This time we had eight Bandit IFs, including two with crew.
We had a great start again. Immediately after the start, one of the sailors took a different route to the first buoy and the other seven sailors stayed together as a group. Not long after, two other sailors decided to follow one boat. The fleet slowly began to stretch, creating a small group of three boats. The other five boats followed a short distance away.
The second race also had a good start and there was already a group of five boats with two boats that immediately took the lead. However, one of the two leaders took the lead and two of the followers followed the other boat to pass the first mark together with the three of them. Behind that, three boats continued to track remotely. However, when the finish line passed, five boats had reunited, however one of the boats had fallen far behind. The group of five boats slowly began to stretch again.
We had three DNFs (Did Not Finish) through both races, however it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.
More pictures after the results.

Today’s winner was Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Ultra (ultramantra Resident) second, and Moon (moonglownight Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Notes:
Moon (moonglownight Resident) and Rugger (Ruggeromare Resident) both finished tied with 8 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
moonglownight Resident | 1 | 7 |
Ruggeromare Resident | 3 | 5 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Moon’s favor with having a first place finish over Rugger’s thirth place as her best.
