Smooth seas, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The regions of The North Sea were well behaved for everyone as no crashes or DNFs occurred on the day. The spectators that gathered on the observation deck of the lighthouse in the Ziziphus region, on the island in the Genip region, and the small race dock in the Eden Jakana region, were treated to a wonderful display of racing from this weeks fleet-foiled flying feline skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea WC Reach 1 course and a 2 lap affair on the North Sea Long Loop course, was comprised of a majority of four The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, split evenly between two single-handed and two crewed boats. Three TMS Nacra 17s rounded out this weeks catamaran fleet.

Today’s winner was Daenerys (blondij Resident), with Teagan (Teagan Snowpaw) second, and Isa (isab DeCuir) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Moon (moonglownight Resident) and Jenna (jnx1e Resident) both finished tied with 9 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
moonglownight Resident 3 6
jnx1e Resident 4 5

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Moon’s favor with having a third place finish over Jenna’s fourth place finish as her best.
