Smooth seas, that turned stormy late, with a nice fleet and spectator turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The regions of The North Sea started out mostly well behaved as only one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded during the first race, in a fleet of nine boats. Things turned choppy late though, as two DNFs were recorded toward the end of the second race, as one skipper crashed on a crossing and another lost their boat in a region of Fruit Islands. The spectators on hand, gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier in the the Eden Jakana region, and on the observation deck of the lighthouse in the Ziziphus region, were reveling in the great racing on display from this weeks fleet-foiled felines. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink and North Sea Copacabana courses, was comprised of a majority of six The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, five sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively. Three TMS Nacra 17s made up the remainder of this weeks catamaran fleet.

Race Notes:
Steve Crawford (SDCsub Resident) and Reni (SerenityAeon Resident) finished tied with 15 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“
